Mental Health Matters

How well are you caring for yourself? Do you tend to the physical AND mental aspects of your health?


When we focus on our health, we tend to focus only on physical health. But do you realize that mental exhaustion can be just as draining as physical exhaustion, if not more, as it affects you both mentally AND physically?


So just as you MUST be intentional about the efforts to restore your body physically, you must also be intentional about restoring your mind. Or you gone go CRA CRA CRAZY!


FOR PHYSICAL RESTORATION:

●Proper diet and nutrition, refuel your system

●Get proper rest

●Vitamins, herbs and natural supplements

●Massages and daily stretching

●YOGA

●Soak in bath or hot tub, steam room

●Cool shower (after a workout start out cool to restore the muscles. But I personally love a hot shower, so I always end it with steaming hot water. Clears your mind and breathing)

●Listen to your body


FOR MENTAL RESTORATION:

●Get proper rest

●Meditation

●Prayer

●Affirmations

●Therapy, counseling, mentor, or coach

●Self-love practices

●Hobbies

●Setting boundaries, saying no

●Fruits and veggies (lots of green leafy veggies)

●Foods targeted to boost mental health such as foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids (salmon, nuts, seeds, legumes, lentils)

●Soak in bath or hot tub

●Steam room or hot shower

●Aromatherapy

●Listen to your body

●Follow your spirit
